Different Types Of Electric Heating

Changing your fuel source and the way in which you heat up your home is becoming increasingly common now that the price of certain types of fuel has risen so considerable in recent years; whereas the likes of gas and oil were considered the better option when it came to choosing the right fuel for your house they are now perceived to be expensive and lacking in energy efficiency. Many people are now looking towards electricity in order to heat up the rooms in their house during the winter and, it is true, that electric heating can result in some very good savings.

What different types of heating can you get though? The most efficient and well know form of using electricity is through radiation; this means that you will have a certain number of radiators in your home that are all linked to a central system but will also be able to be adjusted by themselves to give off (or radiate) the right amount of heat that you desire. It is the most common method and the most widely seen due to its cost and energy efficiency. Secondly we have a convection system that essentially blows hot air through the home. This is different from an air conditioning system whereby this will take air in from outside; using convection will essentially ‘recycle’ the air and warm it up in a quick and timely manner. This is often the quickest system for heating up a large area or many rooms in your house.

Lastly you will find under floor heating that isn’t a prevalent as the other two systems. Electric wires are placed under the floorboards and the heat will rise up however this way of doing it isn’t generally used on its own and will, instead, be used in conjunction with one of the other systems mentioned above.
